The Struggle with 2+ Meter Heating

The Nitty-Gritty Details
We use heavy-wall quartz. Long tubes are finicky—they want to sag or vibrate, and if a tube touches a reflector, you’ve got a big problem. We secure them in custom cradles to keep everything exactly where it should be. Then there’s the power. A 2-meter+ array pulls a massive amount of current. If you use cheap connectors, they’ll burn out. We stick to industrial-grade gear that can handle the heat and the load without breaking a sweat.
The Real-World Trade-offs
Look, these long lamps put out an incredible amount of heat, but they’re fragile. One clumsy bump during installation and a 2-meter tube can snap like a toothpick. You need a mounting frame that’s absolutely rigid. And a quick word of warning: the heat buildup inside a closed tunnel is intense. If your ventilation isn’t up to the task, you’re going to cook your wiring and kill your lamp life way faster than you should. It’s worth double-checking your airflow before you flip the switch.
